About

A composer and pianist fascinated by music since his early childhood,

Ray Pherz combines classical training with cutting-edge technology, ancient traditions, and his own unique sonic language.

Trained in Spain with Frank Temoche, Edith Fischer, and Jordi Vilaprinyó, and in Germany with Tibor Szasz, he soon began including his compositions in piano recitals and working in film, television, advertising, and theater. Inspired by the Polish concert pianist Krystian Zimerman, he decided to dedicate himself entirely to composition.

In 2005, he premiered his fantasy for piano, choir, and orchestra "Resurrection" with the Tenerife Symphony Chamber Orchestra at the Adán Martín Auditorium in Tenerife. Since then, he has exclusively performed his music in numerous recitals, including concerts such as "Redemption" at San Pedro Mártir in Toledo, and at the Heritage Night events held nationwide. “Leonin’s Dream” for concert band and electronic instruments at the Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín, as well as at other venues such as the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, the Auditorium of Freiburg, etc.

He has received awards since the age of 12, including two awards from the Yamaha International Foundation. His symphonic work Resurrection won first prize at the Canarias Me Suena competition, and his original soundtrack for Dawn in Calcutta, a film that garnered significant international success and received eight nominations, including one for Best Original Score at the 2022 Goya Awards of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.

He works for record labels, companies, and music festivals such as Epic Music World (Germany), Triple Scoop Music (USA), Immediate Music, and composer Yoav Goren (USA), the University of Louisiana Monroe (USA), and the Tenerife International Film Music Festival FIMUCITE (Spain), where he was assistant director for the third edition, working alongside composers Diego Navarro, Mark Snow, Jonathan Sacks, and Don Davis.

All of his music is released internationally by one of the most important record labels in the world today, the German label Epic Music World, as well as by Ray Pherz Music.
